Volunteers from Quantum Construction and the Skagit/Island County Builders Association gathered together at the Skagit County Fairgrounds for construction of a new outdoor stage. The stage was designed to provide an aesthetically pleasing and decidedly practical cover over an old foundation. With materials supplied by the county, total cost of the project is estimated to come in at approximately $9,000, a very reasonable price for such a large project. At the time of writing, the decking is still only partially finished, but the project is shaping up to be a beautiful addition to the fairgrounds. The final stage will have a stair access on front and back, ADA-accessible ramp and possibly a full stage covering.
